During the conversations that are generated between photographer & model in the process of delivering the material of sessions, we discussed with Carla how we missed the summer. Since it was already the beginning of winter, and the beach sessions that we like are more complicated this time of year, we decided to pay attention to the weather forecast and take advantage of one of the days when the temperature softens and the sun shines during the Mediterranean winter to shoot a session on the terrace of my studio. Capture the peace, tranquility and calm that reign in those days, a tribute to summer memories with shades of “dolce far niente.”
And this was the result:
Memories of the Mediterranean summer…
Blue Monday has already passed, and with a gradual but inexorable lengthening of the day, slow but persistent, we make our way towards spring and towards summer. Perhaps for this reason, these moments stimulate summer longings, almost equidistant, and the smile of memories and desire in equal parts.
Carla, taking advantage of the space and light of the typical terrace of the city’s courtyards, and these oases of sun and pleasant temperature in the middle of the Mediterranean winter, lazes and sunbathes on any given Sunday morning while she spread out the laundry and water the plants and slabs warmed by the sun… giving us stories of lights and shadows, stories of the dances of black and white and the warm colors that permeate this morning… and allows us to draw through photography, the authenticity that overflows the simple things and the moments that are worth living and remembering… while waiting for the return of the Mediterranean summer.
