An afternoon with Rebeca

Loyal C-Heads readers are well aware of our boundless love for many things, particularly our fondness for cats. These enigmatic creatures, independent yet so endearingly cuddly, have a special place in our hearts. Thus, it is with great pleasure that we present this delightful feature, showcasing the enchanting model, Rebeca, photographed by Shaira Luna, alongside the charming August the cat.

Shaira tells: “Rebeca had just arrived in Manila when I first worked with her for a commercial project, but I immediately sensed a more editorial, artsy side to her, as we were shooting. I learned she was an art student from Argentina, and wanted to chop off her signature long hair! She also showed me an incredibly bold tattoo of a scorpion on her stomach – a stark contrast from her delicate appearance.

I feel like these two sides inspired this spontaneous series, especially after she got a bob cut a few weeks after that conversation. Without a plan or a mood board for an afternoon shoot in my house, we just went by whatever felt natural to her personality. I love Rebeca’s ease and understanding in front of the camera, and her soft approach to storytelling.”
