Frederick Fairytale introduces us to a lovely photo series featuring Kaya Hansen and Angela Guo, two artists united by their shared passion for art and storytelling. And what could be more beautiful than finding your soulmate?
Frederick tells: “I met Kaya and Angie for a chat and a shoot at Holzmarkt, Berlin, a place where artists, tourists, and people seeking tranquility come together. Kaya and Angie first met in the online world. Angie is a musician, and Kaya, along with her sister, is a filmmaker. They collaborated on the beautiful movie “SHE,” with Angie composing the soundtrack. It’s a soul connection on multiple dimensions.”
It began a million miles apart, on two different continents, when two creative souls picked up the same books and found inspiration. In California, Angie (aka Angelacranberry on Spotify) wrote songs, and in Germany, Kaya (aka @the_dreamers_production on YouTube) created cosplay videos, capturing the essence of their favorite characters through their chosen artistic medium.
Their paths crossed online, leading to a series of collaborations where Kaya’s visuals brought life to Angie’s melodies and vice versa. Over two years, their creative and personal connection deepened. Moving beyond reinterpreting existing stories, they emboldened each other to use their own unique voices and create original works together.
Their most recent work, “SHE,” is a short film about self-love that has won multiple awards at film festivals. In an unexpected yet natural plot twist, they not only found their creative partner but also a soul connection that goes beyond words. Now living in Berlin for the summer, they continue telling stories through camera and song, while also writing their own.
