“Sarah and I have known each other for a few years now. We had talked about doing a shoot together a couple of times, but it never really happened. That changed about a year ago, when she bought a Land Rover Defender. Suddenly, the idea of a shoot became more concrete.
Photographer Tim Vansteelandt shares the story behind his latest series starring the stunning Sarah Janssens—a series that feels wonderfully natural, effortless, and so cinematic.
Tim continues: “A car shoot was a bit out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to give it a try—especially since Sarah actually felt more comfortable having her dream car in the pictures. ‘My car always lifts my spirits, even when things aren’t going so well. Thanks to my Defender, I can escape reality from time to time. That sense of freedom is priceless. My biggest dream is to travel with it,’ she told me.”
And you can feel that in the photos—they radiate freedom, happiness, and dreams. The slightly Californian vibe adds the perfect finishing touch. We took the pictures in Lombardsijde, one of the most beautiful spots along the Belgian coast—at least in my opinion.”
