This black and white photo series is a wonderful reflection on the process of becoming—on returning to what feels true when everything else is stripped away. Photographed by Mariana Caldas de Oliveira, it captures Loo Nascimento in a moment of power, stillness and self-recognition.
“We made these images as a way to mark a shift,” Mariana shares. “Loo had gone through a very personal process of letting go—of things that didn’t feel like her anymore. This shoot was a simple way of holding that.”
The series doesn’t try to tell a full story. Instead, it offers fragments—glimpses of softness, strength, pause, and presence. “It’s not about finding a final version of yourself,” Mariana says. “It’s about accepting that you might carry many versions—and that they can all belong.” Styled minimally and shot on film, the images lean into simplicity and honesty. Nothing extra, nothing forced. Just a moment shared.
