After a pair of new singles in the back half of 2024, British alt-popster Caswell is back with her latest, “Final Call.” The Suffolk-based singer-songwriter aims to make light of the dark, exploring the concept of being born again, not metaphorically, but physically – through reincarnation. Backstopped by steady programmed drums, a fat bass tone, and groovy guitars, Caswell’s vocal floats above the mix alongside smooth keys and synth flourishes like a bow atop a gift. The singer, who has received support from the BBC and appeared on stage supporting acts like Ed Sheeran is gearing up for a busy 2025, as her longly-awaited debut full-length Break/Bleed/Bloom is set to drop October 1.

“‘Final Call’ explores the concept of reincarnation and feeling a playful curiosity about death, which is something so often seen as negative and taboo in our culture.”
“‘Final Call’ explores the concept of reincarnation and feeling a playful curiosity about death, which is something so often seen as negative and taboo in our culture. Nature has always been an incredible way of helping me to feel present and there is beauty in knowing that we are connected to this ancient and cyclical network of life, and that one day when we will inevitably return to the earth that we are made from. Maybe death is simply a fallow period of rest, after which our energy lives on in the natural world in some new way.”
