“Red for rest, yellow for motion, green for adventure, blue for business.” This story didn’t begin with a blueprint — it grew from spontaneous moments, each look shaped by mood, memory, and movement. The shoot with Dutch model Iris Werkman, photographed by the wonderful Rosalynn Sundahl in her studio space, is a visual diary stitched together from love, friendship, and a shared commitment to doing things differently.
When Iris and Rosalynn first met, it wasn’t through the fashion world — it was over their shared obsession with cats. “We both had the same breed and just kind of bonded over that,” Iris laughs. But their connection deepened when a photo from their very first shoot together in 2021 actually led to Iris being discovered by her mother agent. Since then, their relationship has evolved — not only as creative collaborators, but as friends who talk about life, sustainability, and what it means to care.
The latest result of that collaboration is a beautifully conscious studio series, where every piece styled by Iris comes from a place of thoughtfulness. “We’d been talking about doing a sustainable shoot together for a while, maybe around vintage markets. But then we ended up just doing it in Rosalynn’s studio — and it became a sustainable shoot anyway. Everything I wore came from my own wardrobe: vintage, second-hand, or from conscious brands I love.”
There’s something refreshingly honest about the way this shoot came together. A red Tricot Paris cardigan and matching Vinted bag for lounging. A yellow vest from Organic Basics paired with a green Ghanda cap for motion and energy. A deep green blazer passed down from her dad. “That one means a lot to me,” Iris shares. “It carries a story.”
The office-inspired blue-and-brown look features a Patine Paris blouse, a leather jacket from Amsterdam’s Waterlooplein Market, and a vintage tie — again, from her father’s closet. “It’s those little things, the mix of memories and conscious choices, that make it feel real,” she says. Even her jewelry tells stories, collected while traveling or gifted by Noble & Precious in Sydney.
Photographer Rosalynn Sundahl’s lens captures Iris with softness and strength. It’s a natural gaze, one that doesn’t shout but lingers — much like the message behind the shoot itself. “Rosalynn was the one who told me about Good On You, the site where you can check how sustainable a brand is. She also joined this beautiful project where a vintage bag gets passed from person to person — each one adding something, or taking something out. That kind of generosity and circular spirit really stayed with me.”
As the four looks — and moods — emerged, so did the storyline. Red became rest. Yellow, movement. Green, exploration. Blue, focus. Four scenes in one wardrobe, pulled together not by trends, but by values. “I’d love to inspire others to make more sustainable fashion choices,” Iris says. “To see what’s already possible, what’s already there — in your closet, your memories, your community.”
