The music of Innellea holds something quietly mysterious — much like the person behind it. He shares generously, yet the image that forms always leaves space for wonder. His new single Trust is a whirlwind of beats and melodies, inspired by opposites — by what he describes as “something so calming, yet so wild.”
That contrast runs through much of his work. Born out of a background steeped in breakbeat influences and shaped by a deep connection to emotion, Innellea creates tracks that live somewhere between the dancefloor and introspection. “This melancholic part brings the song to life,” he says about the pivotal moment in Trust — a section that seems to quietly takes shape rather than explode.
Now based in Lisbon, he speaks about surfing as a reset — a way of staying grounded, outside of sound, but still somehow feeding into it. His music language has always been rich in movement, but there’s a shift happening. Trust, the third chapter from his upcoming Finding Home compilation, blends collaboration with SCRIPT, breakbeat textures, and a darker kind of euphoria. It’s a spirit that also runs through his label belonging, where music becomes a shared experience rather than a solo journey.
The full interview touches on what trust means to him, how community has shaped his creative process, and why one of his most personal songs nearly went unheard. What emerges is a portrait of an artist who may be known for club music — but is quietly carving out a home for vulnerability, depth, and unexpected turns.

Congratulations on your new single Trust! How do you celebrate a release like this — is there something special you like to do, or is it more of a quiet moment for yourself?
Hey thank you guys! Timing was lucky and Script and I are playing in Ibiza at Hi together, so we’ll be celebrating a little bit together.
There’s a moment around 2:20 in Trust where, for me, everything suddenly comes together — the emotion, the rhythm, the movement. It’s not even about a dramatic change, but something just locks in and starts to move my body until the end. Do you feel that too when you listen back to it? (smiles)
Oh yes I do! This melancholic part brings the song to life. I always love to play with different moods to create a nice and evolving dramaturgy.
You’ve also incorporated breakbeat elements this time — how did that come about?
As you may have heard in past productions like the oar I never got, forward forever, insanity, distorted youth I am a huge fan of breakbeats. My influences are mostly breakbeats and anything else besides a classic 4/4 rhythm.
“Trust” is such a simple word, but it carries a lot of weight — especially in human relationships. To be honest, trusting people takes time — and it’s not something I give lightly. What does it mean to you at this point in your life?
Trust for me is the base for everything. Without trust friendship and human connection in general wouldn’t work. As soon as you can trust a person fully I have the feeling of a visible bound that is impossible to break.
“Trust for me is the base for everything. Without trust, friendship and human connection in general wouldn’t work.”
This track is also part of a larger journey: Finding Home. So, when in your life did you feel most at home?
I think I always feel home in the present even if it might sound cheesy. I am working a lot on my mental and phisycal health at the moment and I have the feeling of being in the best form of my life right now.
Looking ahead to the Finding Home compilation release in September, what do you hope listeners walk away with after experiencing the full journey?
This is another big step in my career. I was blessed to work with so many great artists and it was so interesting to blend so many styles. I hope the listener can realize the symbiosis between me and all the artists. Again it’s a journey yet more club driven and energetic rather then listening at home.
You created a Telegram channel where fans help shape everything — from artwork to single choices. Do you enjoy that kind of collaborative process, or does it ever feel challenging to let go of some control?
I love it mainly because I am so close to the community and it feels like the very starting point of my career back in the days. We’re creating something together and that’s what the rave spirit is all about in my opinion.
“I sometimes have the feeling that I unfortunately can’t do what I want as I’m known for club music.”
In a recent interview, you mentioned that skateboarding helps you “completely switch off stuck thoughts” and is the only time your mind isn’t on music. I totally feel that — sport can work like magic. (smiles) Do you find it also fuels your creativity, or does that usually spark in completely different moments?
Oh yeah it is a total reset. I am more into surfing as I moved to Lisbon recently which even has this insanely beautiful nature aspect besides skateboarding. It’s so calming yet so wild… Those opposites also reflect my music quite nicely I’d say
Your Instagram feels very curated. How much intention goes into the visual side of what you share?
I Hate-Love social media. It takes a way to big role in my life job related.
What’s something people might misunderstand about you as an artist?
I sometimes have the feeling that I unfortunately can‘t do what I want as I am known for club music. As an example The Oar I never got was my most personal song ever and I still think it’s my personal masterpiece, but unfortunately it performed super badly in terms of streaming. So to all of you out there hit play and give it a chance.
The most important thing in life is?
Finding Home
