Last Light traces the hush of late summer in the soft glow of 35mm and medium-format film. Photographer Julia Anderson and model Imari Tafili drift toward the riverbanks where time feels suspended—between freedom and change. Styled by Anderson and processed at The Shutterbug Beaverton, the series blends fashion with feeling: warm skin, soft air, and the weightless beauty of an ending season. “When I came up with the idea for Last Light I was thinking about what summer used to mean. For me, during my high school years especially, it felt like a coming-of-age story. I wanted to evoke the feeling of going to the river with your friends, no longer needing the chaperone of an adult, and finally feeling free. This story represents a sun-drenched ode to the final hours of the summer season. It leans into the wistfulness of that golden, glowing time when everything feels suspended between freedom and change. Shot on 35mm and medium format film, Last Light blends fashion with feeling. It’s about the way the end of summer lingers: warm skin, soft air, and the weightless beauty of a season’s end.”
