Quenching The Wanderlust

Even though it was overcast, I created this story of Micaela being on a vacation for a day. Getting away from work, and spontaneously travelling to somewhere unknown to her. Ending up in a beautiful portside town and settling down for the day in a little nook away from her busy life.”

I wanted my images to project carefree summer moments, running barefoot, getting the feeling that the time has stopped, and the only thing left to do is just enjoy summer, enjoy what this island and nature is so generously offering. The fact that I got to be the photographer, the model, and the editor all at the same time is what fascinates me most about self-portrait photography, plus the fact that nobody captures me the way I want.

We both come from Latin backgrounds so it was nice to be able to enjoy a hot summer day in Toronto by the water and imagine we were on some tropical island off the coast of Colombia.”

Above the roofs of Barcelona

We love rooftops. In each city there are those places, hidden from below when walking the streets, and a whole new world opening up when entering them. Photo shootings on them therefore always have this special charme with the city only being vaguely perceptible.
