We love the cool vibe of this Miami Beach photo shoot by Photographer & Creative Director Jonathan Zaoui with model Leah Rose who is with Next Miami. Black and white…
We sat down with the talented Los Angeles-based Lauren Mia. She is a classical pianist and composer-turned-DJ, songwriter, vocalist, and music producer. And while I write these lines, the music of the gifted producer pulls me into another (better) world. The progressive, melodic sound comes with perfect timing and nudges gently along with brilliant depth. There is probably her whole profound being in her creations and in our interview she talks to us about the strength of femininity, her journey of healing, self-love and spirituality.
“Ya Rayt is a love song and means “If Only”. The song is for the loved one that is gone. In a deeper meaning you could say it is about the things you regret that you did or didn’t do in the past.” explain Ameen and Thorben, better known under the artist name Shkoon about their remix of Raghab Alama´s 1986 Arabic Pop classic Ya Rayt.
“Northern Alberta is more than the cold. It’s the dust on the road and the warm breath in the morning. It’s the ever silent evenings broken up by the distant rumble of truck tires on gravel roads heading towards pasture and the coyotes chilling echos into the night.”
“I wanted a pop-type theme with a schizophrenic twist. The jam at the time was just perfect for that! Then in a second session, the lyrics came quickly. You freak me out when you do or you don’t call / you freak me out when you’re in or out of my head. The Love Equivalent emerged from the confrontation of self and self-image. Something that is also strongly reflected in Freak Talk. In this, each track is like a new facet that slowly emerges to the surface through this confrontation until it is sure of its own freedom.”
‘Forevermore’, is the second release from Boston based singer and songwriter Miguel Samuel, out of his forthcoming 4-track EP due April 2022 and co-produced by Anthony ‘Saffs’ Saffery of Cornershop fame. It starts with a familiar sound of past days vibes and turns out to be a sweet piece of nostalgic indie-pop.
Alexander Mazzarella comes from beautiful Carinthia, which is also our home. He is a student, farmer and passionate photographer. His works are expressive snapshots. Images as a diary of what he sees, and experiences.
Belgian duo JUICY is back with the new single “Youth”. And as with their last releases, the two artists link catchy, refreshing pop with important messages. We had a chat with the two talents about discourses and self-acceptance, the importance of representation of older women and their upcoming album release party.
“The location for the shoot was a place called the Cathedral House Hotel, which is known as one of the most haunted buildings in the UK.” tells us Scottish Photographer Alan Morgan and arouses our curiosity. “It is a little boutique type accommodation now but in the 1800s served as a half way house for a nearby prison.”
“The shoot was done at the hidden beach in Oaxaca state, Mexico.” introduces photographer Karo Ramos his work showing model Sonia Seger at one with nature. “You only get access to it during low tide, and not everyone knows about it, therefore usually there are not that many people.” he reveals to us.
“I just hope that my songs has little lives everywhere and touch people in different ways.” We take a deeper dive into the mind of Toronto native, Abby Sage. Her unique sound and indie inspired vocals bring a relaxing musical experience to the listener.
Sebastian Arpesella is a portrait, fashion and advertising photographer from Argentina. No make-up, no hair styling, no retouching – it is the search for the natural and raw image that he expresses with his nude photography.
For most people, space is a negligible series of compounded elements – indiscernible atoms and molecules that border our material possessions. Nothing more. No questions asked. For Resa Saffa Park, however, space is everything. Space is a vacant garden primed to bloom, evolve, die, and begin again. Space is failure, passion, and where creation exists and consciousness begins.
“Street photography today is definitely more challenging, especially with the ubiquitousness of digital cameras and smartphones. People on the street always notice you or are aware of being photographed. In the decades before digital photography, cameras were less prominent, so it was much easier to capture a candid moment.”
Faded are the colorful days. The days where the birds chirped, the sun danced through the streets and the zest for action was released in a smile. F The days have become darker. And even though I never wanted to be political it has become difficult not to be.
