A warm welcome to London based photographer Daniele Roversi who debuts on C-Heads with a sensual classic set starring Nicole Pizzetti. “I first met Nicole in a photography workshop where I was assisting and she was modelling almost five years ago. Since then she decided to switch her path to enter the photography industry by stepping behind the camera with assisting and shooting her own amazing photographs.”
“This journey to knowing who you are was vital in order to grow and attain a greater sense of self.” Colorful, exciting and with an ethereal charm. After Afro-Irish songstress Tolü Makay unveiled her debut EP ‘Being’ which is about the long journey to self-acceptance she just dropped a truly beautiful video for the single ‘Wild Thang’.
Los Angeles based singer- songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Mike Edge drops his laid-back and smooth new single “Me And You”. And it comes along with a wonderful video which is meant to feel like a sleepy micro dose during an Indian summer.
One of the artists currently inspiring us on her journey of transformation is Jay Medvedeva. She is an artist and Dj/producer now based in Berlin. She shares her answers to our deep-hearted questions as we seek to discover the transition that music is going through right now. She is a true nomad that carries her home within herself, adapts to change and inspires us to do the same.
“My new series When the leaves break documents the intimacy and the artistic connection between us. I’m Beatrice and Joyce is my muse. I was born in Sicily but I spent most of my life in Milan. I traveled alone for one year around Asia and Australia and I learnt how much I love photography.”
We are absolutely in love with JEZ_EBEL´s new song In Her Eyes and even more so with the intriguing video that comes with it. Directed by Herman Friis, it has such a feel-good vibe – somehow it reminds us of how we would imagine a modern Pippi Longstocking to be if she would be in her adolescence. Cheeky and carefree, and always up for something fun and rebellious.
Donna Arendse, founder of Lekker Collective and A&R Manager at Majestic Casual curates a playlist of soulful tracks by – or featuring – female artists. Today heralds my return to creating my soulful, women-led playlist after an almost two year hiatus from C-Heads. The theme for this selection is warm, and soothing sounds – music which feels like a warm hug.
“The green, the vibe, the spontaneity of this day, the nonsense, jokes and fun we made during the photoshoot. My inspiration came out of me being in quarantine for so long, with no option to travel and being there, in LA.” The series featuring Shahar Arviv photographed by Michal Idan goes into the second round.
Music has the power to time travel. And through music we can time travel too. So what happens when two masters of their musical handicraft but of totally different centuries collaborate? Talented producer Christian Löffler has reworked four Beethoven tracks from original 1920s recordings of his pieces. The release, which comes through Deutsche Grammophon, comes as the world celebrates the 250th anniversary of the birth of Beethoven.
“This shoot was maybe one of the quickest I’ve had. Larasati caught my eye on Instagram and I messaged her immediately, She was down to shoot and came to my place the very next day.” recounts Photographer Martin Jovcheski.
We got goose bumps when we heard “Wasting Time “for the first time. The dulcet voice of Billy Lockett goes deep into our hearts. London based singer and songwriter Billy Lockett finally returns with his emotional and hauntingly beautiful new single ‘Wasting Time’.
“I wanted to make something to make people dance and move, and ultimately connect with all those not so distant, nostalgic, summer memories and romances in which we lose ourselves in the present moment. I hope this track gives you a brief pause from whatever you are facing in life right now and really serves as a reminder that we should all dream big, dream more, and love harder – now more than ever before!”
“The Cinema is a wonderful place. You sit together with all sorts of people in a hall and you laugh, cry and feverish together. Streaming never replaces that feeling and experience.” We had the pleasure to question talented Austrian director Daniel Geronimo Prochaska about how he got hands on the script, the immediate feeling of knowing when someone is right for a part and finding his own style of directing.
Swiss singer songwriter Long Tall Jefferson is an indie folk maverick. With the release of his latest LP titled Cloud Folk, he proved that there is still plenty of room in this rather dusty and conservative genre for serious innovation. The record sees him sampling and injecting bits and pieces lifted from the world of glossy, modern pop into the matrix of auteur guitar music.
