“We could be together, maybe we´re forever, is that what you want, to settle down? I could get a job, I could wear a suit, a monkey in a suit, to make some money. We could buy a house and a double bed. Is that what you want, to live another life and settle down? I never wanted this… ”

Raw sound meets meaningful lyrics and it triggers a bit the memory about Nirvana. “Never wanted this” is the first single release – 18th August – of Wild Smiles´debut album “Always Tomorrow” that will be out 27th of October. The brothers Chris and Joe Peden and drummer Ben Cook sing about “growing up, getting out, the struggles of debt-heavy, priced-out youth.”Never Wanted This” and the other single on the EP called “While I’m Gone” are bold rejections of the mundane sort of life we’re expected to settle for. “It’s our perception of life,” says Ben. “Not the voice of a generation but just how we three see it.”

Enjoy an exclusive playlist with 10 selected tracks by them along with their personal thoughts why they choose that song. Turn up the volume!

The Beach Boys – All Summer Long
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDt8rCv0TWU

The Beach Boys have a song for every occasion of the summer and instantly can put you in the mood to get down to the beach.

Real Estate – Talking Backwards

The new Real Estate album will be one of the main ones this summer. Maybe the closest thing to a modern day Beach Boys.

The Red Cords – Punk Eye

Our friends the Red Cords are from sunny Cornwall and one of the most exciting new bands in the UK.

Foo Fighters – Times Like These

Me and Joe went to see Foo Fighters a couple summers ago and this song always reminds me of that summer.

Habibi – I got the moves

Perfect sunshine vibes from a great new American band Habibi – The album is coming out on Burger Records this year!

Moby – Porcelain

The beach is a movie that makes you wanna get away and this song is just simply awesome.

Honeyblood – Super Rat

Honeyblood’s album is out now and will perfect for evening summer drives.

Conor Oberst and The Mystic Valley Band – Slowly ( Oh so Slowly )

Grease – Summer Nights

Summer love.

Hello from Berlin! I love freedom, travelling, long train rides, Stefan Zweig books, cats, colours, writing postcards, music, and movies à la Woody Allen and Wes Anderson. What makes me really happy is the seaside, sunrises and sunsets and having lots of time!
