life continues either way.
A friend recently told me that she is 30 and she still hasn´t found out who she is and what she wants from life. Can we ever really find that out? I think you are searching for all your life. You have moments where you find yourself and then you loose this feeling again. Because circumstances always alter. People come and go in your life and influence your search. Nothing remains and no matter if you have arrived at one point, something will change again and then you need to define yourself in a new way. I think some people know exactly what they want when they are in their twenties or even earlier, but when they reach 30 they suddenly realise that they want and need something different. Or they are forced to rethink it all. I have been looking for all my life already for what I want and sometimes I know it and manage to achieve it and other times wishes and possibilities vanish in front of my eyes. And moments of confusion will never completely leave my side. But I don´t really put myself under any pressure or have this aspiration to have this one master plan for what I want in life with the goal of ultimately finding myself completely. And if that is ever possible I guess this will be more towards the old age after experiencing the full range of life. In the wisdom of the Zen budhism the essence is to adapt to conditions and to consistently free yourself from norms, rules and expectations of others and your own. To let go of this pressure that us humans tend to put on ourselves and our surrounding because we constantly look for this reassuring certainty in things. And while we are searching so hard for the answers we might never get, life continues either way.
