Toronto based photographer Andrew Obtinalla debuts on C-Heads with a truly beautiful cinematic series starring Lia Williamson.

“My inspiration came from a photo I saw on the internet. My initial thought was “wow,” this looks like it was a still from a movie. And that was the goal for this shoot, to shoot a series of photos that felt like they were screen grabbed from a movie. A film on pause, if you will. I shot Lia Williamson along with my team at a bowling alley. Lia Williamson is an aspiring actress from Oakville Ontario, so it made sense to get her to model for me. This shoot was inspired by late 60’s fashion and shot on a vintage Hasselblad Medium Format camera with Cinestill film. Cinestill film is converted movie theatre film for photographing stills, which is what gives the shoot’s aesthetic that of a movie scene. The location was a place called Planet Bowl just east of Toronto, and the owner John was thrilled to have us take some photos at his alley that day.”
