It’s a two-track single release which serves as the first taste from her brand new five-track EP named Apex which will come out in August this year. Melis sings about the inner proverbial void which our generation struggles to fill and softly conveys the topic of loneliness in the context of social media and gently captures the moments of infatuation, tension, vulnerability and excitement of meeting someone new for the first time.

Melis explains: “This EP definitely feels more authentic and real to me as an artist in comparison to my previous releases. I’ve always felt a pressure to fit into the Pop category even though it was never something I truly wanted for myself. I experienced a huge amount of joy in the writing and recording process of Apex – something I’ve not felt before. Being creatively free with it has allowed me to produce a body of work which I think of as the true essence of me. My intention was to explore our collective addiction to social media and highlight the dark sides of it. Obviously I never thought I would be releasing at a time like this, so I almost feel like the songs now take on a whole new meaning/depth with everything happening around me.”
