Knowing when to shut your mouth can be sometimes more crucial than knowing when to open it.

It’s not the sexiest thing to sing about, but it’s raw and evocative. Which is why you have to give Emily Hackett props for taking it head on with her new single “Handle”. The Americana/folk-pop singer comes to terms knowing when to take fault, and strive for growth from a result of it. It’s a beautifully written and arranged song, and C-Heads has it here for you today.

“I can be hard to handle. Something I didn’t really know about myself, until this relationship. I think people had just put up with it — but he doesn’t, and it’s exactly what I need. This song was that kind of magic that happens in an hour because it was heavy on the heart and needed to come out, plain & simple. It’s the best apology I’ve ever made.”
