Tottenham’s rising artist, common goldfish, returns with “On The Sidelines” – a captivating song that blends elements of psychedelia, punk, and indie. Hailing from Great Britain, common goldfish grew up surrounded by a diverse array of musical genres, thanks to his family’s eclectic tastes. Pop music with an electronic touch captured his attention initially, followed by hip-hop. As he grew older, he delved into indie rock, and later on, he discovered ska. His influences reflect this rich tapestry of different musical styles, yet he maintains an unmistakable washed-out, heart-warming Britpop flair.

His latest single, “On The Sidelines,” serves as a tribute to authentic human connection, urging listeners to set aside their phones and engage with those around them. He shares, “I believe we’re all spending too much time in our own online worlds, being fed information by algorithms that can ultimately push us further apart. It’s becoming too easy to find like-minded opinions, which can shelter us from different points of view. This song is an upbeat call for people to come together through music and celebrate real-life interactions.”

As the last notes of “On The Sidelines” fade away, listeners are left with a lingering sense of hope for a future where music unites us and acts as the catalyst for genuine connections. The song’s powerful message serves as a reminder that, in a world where technology often isolates us, we should strive to embrace diverse perspectives and cherish the moments we share with one another. The song ultimately uplifts listeners, fostering a joyful atmosphere that encourages connection and unity.
