Photographer Cadence Hooks indulges in dreamy memories of an enchanting place where the world seems to stand still, drawing inspiration from days gone by for new creativity.
“That one month in our 20s and we lived in the 18th century château in France …” “Ash and I met at the chateau last summer, both arriving in Champagne France for an intensive living, painting, and creating in a chateau that was built in the style of Louis XV – historically owned by philosophers, writers, and art patrons. In this series I capture a day in the life; the girls would come for shoots in the early 6am light that would hit through these big windows. I loved waking up to dewy light, looking out into the fields, and scraping up inspiration through endless libraries of art books, greatest of all time literature, and start writing and scrapbooking. Ash’s focus during her time was to collage — putting together past decade concepts in a modern story.”
