““Je n’m’enfuis pas, je vole,” she told me before we said goodbye. “I’m not running away, I’m flying.” And I think that phrase sums up everything this session was about: a reminder that we don’t have to flee from who we are — that we can fly with every part of our story, even the ones that once made us feel vulnerable.”
In this intimate C-Heads editorial, Mexican photographer Albert Crown captures Melany Dafne Perez Moreno in the soft natural light of his apartment in Aguascalientes, Mexico — a space where plants grow wild and the sunlight quietly dances across the room.
“We weren’t trying to create the perfect image — we were just searching for truth,” Albert shares. Melany, 24, posed with a calm confidence that only comes from self-trust — in her body, in her story, and in her right to be fully seen. Between shots, they talked about her love for puzzles and craft, her family, and her desire to keep moving — always forward, always curious.
With no set styling or elaborate production, the energy of the series lies in its honesty. “There’s something hypnotic in her gaze,” Albert reflects. “It says a thousand things without raising its voice.”
