“Sasha” is a study of intimacy, shot in the room I grew up in in our hometown. Sasha was also my very first model and my classmate, and this shoot became the third and final chapter of our creative partnership,” tells us Melbourne-based Alisa Gab. A series that feels melancholic, tender, soft and sensual — like a drop of water slowly making its way down a flower petal.
“We captured these frames during a moment of significant transition — just weeks after finishing school and days before we both left the country to pursue our studies on opposite sides of the world. Sasha was moving to Germany, while I was heading to the United States.
Using only natural light and the familiar textures of the room, we aimed to capture the quiet emotions and sense of change that often accompany the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. It is a portrait of a friend, a first muse, and a hometown that was already beginning to feel like a memory.”
