Lake Constance stretches for 63 kilometres along the foothills of the Alps, touching Germany, Austria and Switzerland. On summer days, its blue seems to go on forever, framed by distant mountains, little harbours and boats drifting somewhere between one shore and the next.
On one of those days, photographer Tim Schiemann, model Annika Koser and a crew of close friends set sail from Langenargen on a beautiful old wooden yacht. There was no big plan behind it, just a day on the water and the idea of making the most of summer.
“The most beautiful stories are often the ones that were never planned. This series was created with close friends, a classic wooden sailing yacht, and no expectations beyond simply enjoying the moment. The conversations, the wind, the warm sunlight, and the gentle rhythm of the water naturally shaped every single frame.”
And perhaps that is exactly what you can feel in these photographs. Annika laughing into the sun, bare skin warmed by the afternoon light, the wind playing with her hair, a boat full of friends and nowhere they particularly needed to be. A little story about freedom, friendship and the kind of summer that asks for nothing more than to be lived.
