The Beach of Happiness
At the dawn of a Balinese day, the photographic series, “The Beach of Happiness,” was born through the discerning lens of Markus Wachter’s Leica. The setting was a beach in Canggu, typically a haven for surfers, which became the canvas for a compelling interplay of brightness and obscurity. The radiant smile of the gorgeous Anushka served as the heart of the series.

“Upon stumbling upon Ida’s profile on Instagram, I was immediately captivated by her infectious smile that seemed to light up her photos. She exuded a lighthearted and playful aura that was undeniably magnetic. I soon discovered that she was based in Berlin, and this serendipitous alignment spurred me to reach out to her. Intrigued by her vibrant personality, I proposed a spontaneous photoshoot, hoping to encapsulate her radiant spirit in my frames.”

I want to show you, make visible, what our psyche, our experiences can do with an image. I want to make visible how it can be to perceive differently. To perceive distortedly. We all carry our history with us, which influences our perception. There is no absolute truth. Do you see what I see?
