“I think it’s interesting to generate a certain feeling of “mystery”” – The world of nsiries

Behind nsiries there is Alessio Maria Ciacio – an Italian artist based in Bologna. Born and raised in Sicily, he was inspired by the sounds of the sea, sunsets, and Sicilian soul. His work is nostalgic and cinematic, most time with a mystical dark color palette. Telling stories and creating mysteries at the same time. The faces are often obscured, and yet one has the feeling of looking into eyes.

“Photography literally means the capturing of light.” A talk with Oswaldo Cepeda alias MoodyDarkRoom

Oswaldo Cepeda is MoodyDarkRoom. Although his catalog is steeped in a cosmic spirit, the Southern California-based photographer is less of a dreamer and more of an adaptor. A light-bender defined by his DIY dexterity, Oswaldo is equal parts scrappy and stylish. At first glance MoodyDarkRoom’s portfolio is a boundless series of instinctive elegance; but behind the artist’s Sony A7II you’ll find a modest dedication to resourcefulness.

More empty space between us.

I wonder how my life would be, if there was more empty space in it, more silence between us. I want back to this state of standing the empty space, the not needing to know all, not wanting to share all. And where all that we share is that very moment we have with each other.

Hotel Room

“Acting like a shelter, protecting us from the outside world and it’s current crisis, we spent some days into a hotel room in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The changing light and the view from the balcony became my main distraction as a photographer. Using my wife as model I could express myself before being able to join the real world.”

Finding the stroking sunray

Her brain feels fried. What shall she do? Where is this bloody fulfilled life that they kept telling her about. That will give her all the satisfaction she was anticipating. And does it exist anyway…maybe it doesn’t so she can stop hunting for it, right?

The Makings of a Story- A Talk with Los Angeles Based Photographer Nesrin Danan

With photographs underlying a sense of dreamy aura, Nesrin Danan brings us a collection of pictures that parallels a day well spent with friends accompanied by a camera and strings of easy conversations. Whether it is on a roof of a friend’s place, a park under the golden rays or even at a concert with neon lights dancing over a crowd, her work never fails to authentically capture moments that would later make for stories encapsulating the days of transient youth.

Good things take time

In our fast paced world it has become significantly more difficult to keep this inner sense of calmness and to stay serene even when you don’t get an instant sense of success and remain confident when you don’t get an immediate feedback. We are impatient with ourselves and others too and like that create an environment in which things and people and ourselves cannot develop at its natural speed anymore.
