Ben Everden

After an intense heatwave, a few crisp, cooler days can feel like a small gift — we think. Photographer Ben Everden felt the same when he recently found himself in San Francisco, where he shot this series with Sofia Lee of Look Model Agency at China Beach. “After months of Miami heat, San Francisco was freezing, foggy, and honestly a very welcome change. Grey skies, cold water, and the cliffs disappearing into the fog gave the whole afternoon such a beautiful, quiet mood.

“We met on the beach here in Miami with no real plan, just wanting to make something a bit more fun than the usual,” Ben Everden tells us about his newest series starring gorgeous Anette Marrero Viu of Next Miami. Always refreshing to see a classy beach series with a subtle nostalgic touch.

“Alexis Santiago and myself love the styles, architecture and automobiles from the 60’s and 70’s so in this little personal project we wanted to create something using some current styles that really had that vintage feel,” photographer Ben Everden tells us, who, along with the beautiful model Alexis and her sweet dog, Buddy Santiago, takes us on a little journey through time. “The location is actually a club in Miami called Zey Zey and they have some fantastic little areas that we used and that tree in the middle of the place is just amazing!”

“The light on the afternoon we shot was pretty amazing,” remembers photographer Ben Everden of the day he spent shooting with model Ashley Thompson, who was born and raised in Miami and has an identical twin. Ben adds the amusing detail that Ashley was even early to their shoot, which never happens in Miami.

“Amanda is a good friend from Australia and last weekend while attending a BBQ, I happened to have my medium format camera, the bikini, and my beautiful friend Adriana Canals with me.” tells us photographer Ben Everden who perfectly highlighted the beautiful Kobu piece in this spontaneous shooting. “Shooting at a friend’s Balinese-inspired canal front property in Key Biscayne was the way this was meant to happen.”
