“My mind is constantly running. It’s almost hard for me to not think creatively. I keep a journal and write down locations I see and photo ideas I have in mind. When I make a photo come to life it’s almost like a weight lifted off my shoulder then I go onto the next.”

Colorful, sparkling and good vibes. Amber Asaly is a twenty two years young currently Los Angeles based photographer who shots mostly super cute girls on film. Watching her images will  immediately bring you in a perfect happy summer mood and captivates you with an unwanted freshness and cutness overload.

Where does your passion for photography come from? And can you remember your first image?
The first time I got handed a film camera (when I was a sophomore in high school) was the first time I really fell in love with the art. It’s therapeutic for me to shoot and create images, I actually think I’m addicted to it haha buuut my first image damn, no.. I actually can’t remember.
How would you describe your own work?
Hmm..I’d say it’s very raw yet soft, always a natural vibe, 35mm, and hottest babes of the we$t coa$t.
Most of your work is very colourful, with lots of flowers and girly attitude. What are your influences besides youth culture?
I am recently really really obsessed with Cass Bird. Most artists that shoot 35mm or medium format I’m immediately attracted to and easily influenced by.
What camera do you use?
I have a whole array of 35mm cameras. minoltas, canons, nikons… anything Goodwill has for me I’ll take.
And how do you reset to be creative?
My mind is constantly running. It’s almost hard for me to not think creatively. I keep a journal and write down locations I see and photo ideas I have in mind. When I make a photo come to life it’s almost like a weight lifted off my shoulder then I go onto the next.
Many people move to Los Angeles especially when working within the creative field. Does this city still hold this American Dream nowadays?
Mossstt def. I think so. Los Angeles is so motivating because you’re surrounded by so many hustlers. Like everyone out here is trying to make it so it just makes you wanna get there faster than all them.
Where and with whom can we find you on a saturday night?
You can find me at the trip pad with the homiezz & mishka <— my dog. She’s perfect.
Where do you see yourself in the future?
Traveling around zee world shooting fashion. & co-owning In N Out.
A questions we should have asked you?
I am a little offended you didn’t ask me about my career in tap dancing. Along with photography I tap dance around the world. (That’s a joke, it’s what I tell people I sit next to on airplanes when they ask me what I do for a living.)

Hello from my planet! I love nature, freedom, dancing, traveling, music, reading, chilling, cats and the woods. What makes me happy is healthy food, a good night out, long walks in the forest and getting lost in the sound of nature.
