“Friend Zone” is the third single from my EP ‘Young Man Ambition’ and it’s the most personal. “Friend Zone” gives insight into my current situation where I’m revealing how insecure but optimistic I am about moving forward with a new relationship after my previous of 9 years. So many people can relate to this message and I hope listeners are able to use their inner strength to continue falling in love without allowing a bad breakup to ruin every future possibility. Expressing your emotions can truly be tough with the fear of being hurt again or turned down. I know the feeling too well. Like I said in the song, “this love thing is complicated.. it can be hard and frustrating at the same damn time.”

The “Friend Zone” music video is one of my more simple videos simply because I wanted it to feel genuine and as if I was singing to the person I’m referring to in the lyrics. I’m home alone, just waking up, I text “good morning”, start fixing my breakfast and as the video progresses you can feel the passion that I have through the lyrics and the way I’m behaving in the video. Everything from the camera lighting, angles, panning, etc was shot, directed and edited by myself in my home.
