Growing up in the concrete jungle of São Paulo, João Thurnher, aka Jaayology, from an early age on, has always had an adventurous spirit and a desire to explore the world with a camera in his hands.
After a horrible motorbike accident in which he broke his femur he was hospitalized for more than a year. In that time João found himself depressed, lonely and having an intense feeling of nostalgia. “I started to look at all the photos I took. And together with my creative friends I came up with a concept for an exhibition called Knowhere.” After this successful exhibition that took place in Barcelona and a couple of years later, he sized the idea for his debut photo book called Erotikka.
“Erotikka is a compilation of images taken throughout my five years of travels, innumerous stories that have only been told to my closest friends from all over the world.” All of this pooled into a compelling personal album that will give you goose bumps and the desire to explore even more. However with the tourist revolution peaking specially in Spain he’d rather not disclose locations of various sun-drenched beaches found in the book. There is no release date for the book yet, so watch out for any news on his instagram page.
