Kytes just released their catchy, energetic indie pop track “the beat is on hold”.

If you want to get to know Munich based indie-pop quartet Kytes better you have to go a bit back to their beginnings. During their school days they played under a different name, had changing faces and a slightly different sound. Today Michael Spieler, Timothy Lush, Kerim Öke and Thomas Sedlacek have grown together as Kytes.

The band tells: “This is a refreshing, danceable and powerful tune. In times where we all are in desperate need of some extra motivation, the track feels even stronger. We were struggling with inspiration for new music. Our tour got postponed twice, we had just released a record shortly before lockdown. So when it came to writing new songs, we had to go down another path. We had to incorporate all these things that happened in the last year. A long break, lockdown, all the things we missed so badly and all the weird hypes like banana bread, home workouts, live streams and so on. Ultimately the song is our call for normality, but in the most positive and uplifting way, we could think of. ”

They continue: “We feel the new music is the perfect next step on our journey into the unknown. It’s a departure from all that is behind us and our approach was to create something new and exciting.”
