For their latest music video The Stone Souls once again teamed up with director Tyler-Marie Evans and gorgeous actress Alina Lee.
‘I thought I found someone’ is a melancholic, charming Nancy Sinatra-style track straight from the 60’s. The song tells the story of an abandoned woman who looks back on a lost love when she receives a letter from her former lover, she doubts whether she will read it…
Alina and Dan Roe really draw the viewer into the story of the song and how some of our most precious connections in life aren’t meant to last. Theodor Versteegen tells about the song: “I thought I found someone was the last song I wrote prior to recording our album ‘Misfits’. It’s one of those rare songs that I wrote down in half an hour. The idea of telling a story rather than a verse/chorus-style song was on my mind for quite a while and this little story about ‘mirror-souls’ pretty much wrote itself. Lina (Kuipers) felt the connection with this story right from the start and pulled off an incredible vocal performance in only a few takes the day we recorded it. So it’s Lina and Alina really pulling the viewer into this story, it’s my favourite Stone Souls-video so far I think…” About the video he continues: “The biggest part of the video was filmed in a little Black Box Theater in Hollywood LA, the ‘watergun duel’ is shot on super 8 film, the vintage way!”
‘I thought I found’ someone is also available on the limited edition vinyl pressing of The Stone Souls’ new album ‘Misfits’.
