“Barcelona has always been a place you return to when you’re broken, though you don’t really know why. The streets are full of history—of loves that never were, of farewells and encounters still heavy in the air. The balconies watch you, the bars smell of vermouth from noon, and the sun creeps through the windows like a spy. Time here doesn’t heal anything, but it doesn’t rush you either. Everything moves slowly, like a long, hot breath.
Karen and I owed each other this encounter—something that should have happened years ago. And when it finally did, we didn’t need to say much. The connection was instant, as if the air itself had been waiting for this moment. The heat in the room wasn’t just from Barcelona; it was her—with her gaze that traps you and suffocates you, but you don’t want to escape. Coincidences are just echoes of lost loves, memories that don’t let go. We talked about music, about love without promises or grand gestures—just the love that matters: the one that’s real in that moment, as fleeting as the heat, but enough to leave a mark.”
