Loome stays sharp but gets real on sophomore record ‘YOUFORIA’

Off the back of the acclaim kicked up during his debut campaign, Britain’s Loome has returned with his sophomore effort. That effort, YOUFORIA, comes in the form of heartfelt lyrics, sharp arrangements, and sleek productions that push, pull, and settle the listener in just over 24 minutes’ time. Equal parts intellect and emotion, it’s a fit style for the Bury St. Edmunds native – whose real name is Tomas Frankson – having grown up literally between Cambridge and the coast. Not sounding out of step with his contemporaries of the moment, like Role Model, but with a bit of classic pop panache reminiscent of 2010s greats like The 1975, YOUFORIA brings a bit of variety for its intended ears, and wastes no time in delivering the punch.

“I hope this album reminds people that they are the main character in their movie. Iconic, flawed but above all else real.”

“At the start of August 2025 I challenged myself to write an album in 6 weeks, when all I had was the title ‘YOUFORIA.’ I felt the most inspired in my creative career to push the boundaries of what could be done and the songs just kept coming. I ended up writing 10 songs in total all celebrating YOU. Romanticizing every bit of life, even the weaknesses, the failures and the shortcomings. Not hiding them, but celebrating them as part of life. Diamond Skin came first and ironically has tinges of mourning the loss of creative inspiration. Little did I know it would be the start of my most prolific 6 weeks as a songwriter, ever.

I hope this album reminds people that they are the main character in their movie. Iconic, flawed but above all else real.”
