Based in Vienna and Milan, dancer and choreographer Teresa Janschitz welcomed photographer Marc Mamaril into her home for an afternoon that started with a few simple Polaroids and naturally turned into something more.
The two have known each other through dance for years, making the collaboration feel easy from the very beginning. What was originally meant to be a quick session for Teresa’s agency slowly evolved into a spontaneous series of portraits — relaxed, unplanned, and exactly the kind of shooting Marc enjoys most.
“Working with Teresa always feels effortless. She moves naturally in front of the camera and has this beautiful ability to interact with it without ever forcing anything,” Marc shares.
And you can feel that ease throughout the images.
Curled up on the sofa in soft knits and loose denim, Teresa moves between slow moments and playful gestures with the same natural grace that has shaped her career as a professional dancer. Some frames feel intimate and almost introspective, while others capture the lightness hidden between movements — a fleeting smile, wild curls falling across her face, the warmth of an ordinary afternoon at home.
With more than sixteen years of experience across various dance disciplines, Reesa has performed on international stages, appeared in television productions, and worked as a choreographer and movement director for artists and brands alike. Yet this series isn’t about achievements or grand productions. Instead, it offers a glimpse into a quieter side of her world.
Enjoy!
