Delivering a shoegazey brand of female fronted indie rock that calls back to greats like Slowdive or The Cranberries, London’s sadplanet are setting the table for the release of their awaited debut EP. It’s early, but slated for September 10, slowing down appears as it will be the band’s most complete work yet.
The second and latest sampling comes in the form of “please,” a breezy ode to letting go. Perfectly tinged for the summertime dreamtime, “please” rides a wave of lush guitars and poignant synths to its crashing climax, but ends on a bit of a cliffhanger – meaning the next taste shouldn’t be far past the bend.

“‘please’ is about the kind of friendship that feels perfect, until it isn’t. It’s that slow realisation that all the red flags were there from the start, but you chose to ignore them because of how good it felt in the moment. There’s a real high in finding someone who just gets you, and the song lives in that rise and fall, ‘so far it’s up, so far to fall.’ It’s about the comedown from that intensity, and the mess that’s left when it all unravels.”
