The hardest part usually comes first: stepping into the cold water. Once you do, there’s rarely a reason to look back.
Meet South African beauty Lisa Koedooder, whom photographer Philipp Pohl met on one of Cape Town’s magnificent beaches. Inspired by the effortless charm of ’80s swimwear campaigns, the two set out to create something that felt less about seduction and more about quiet femininity. Wearing some of her favorite swimsuits and beachwear, Lisa wandered along the shoreline as if it were her own little world—curious, carefree and completely at ease.
“The editorial tells the story of a laid-back woman who explores the beach as her own little realm of happiness,” Philipp shares. “Lisa stepped into the far-too-cold water several times, and together we created a series of images that capture the ever-changing mood of a sunset, fully lived.”
Enjoy!
