“I actually worked with Mardi on a few E-commerce jobs prior, I love her relaxed vibe and attitude and even though we were shooting studio looks I felt she had the look and energy to make some amazing hedonistic swim images.” explains Nat Lanyon about his neweset series starring Mardi Cunningham of FRM. And it’s been too long since we’ve released a series from the talented photographer on our site.
“Loss is a gloomy theme, especially considering the current status of our world. But there’s a ray of hope and resilience coming through Birdsong. That was exactly what I needed at the moment I wrote it.” Sarah Anna Psalti-Helbig aka Sarah P. lost her father, and at the same time she has become a mother herself. A turmoil of barely manageable feelings, with the strong will for her daughter and her husband to find a way to deal with it. And Sarah P. knows all too well how to take challenging paths.
“It had been a long time since I had even picked up my camera. So I was really happy – and actually very nervous – shooting with Toña Pou Amengual .” Steve McKee explains to us. “We wanted it to have fun, just hanging out at her apartment, and keep the photos real. Hair and make up? Not needed. Hair band on the wrist? Meh, who cares? Even Toña’s cheeky parrot “Kiwi” was a total diva and tried to be the star of the show. At least Toña didn’t try to eat my camera.”

An intriguing series that reveals secrets and awakens at the same time. One is an observer of individual small quiet scenes. And an ephemeral participant of a rustic location. Sometimes you try to forget everything around you for a moment. To distract yourself. With good friends, with good pages of a book or like Eric Jamieson, with a photo shoot. Thinking about his friends in Ukraine, he doesn’t have many memories of this shooting.

The work of Karo Ramos is always incredibly authentic and natural. This time the talent teamed up with Monica Metea to catch the sunset somewhere at the coast in Oaxaca in Mexico. She tells us: “I was shooting with Moni – a girl who has been living by the ocean for the past few years. We wanted to show the vibe of the village and to capture its simplicity.
