“It was Saturday night – travelling to Athens, when I noticed a female team on board. Since that moment I knew I wanted to meet these girls again. When the boat arrived to Piraeus port early morning, stepping out I had the chance to ask one of the girls about their mission. It was the first time I decided to shoot a Volleyball game and I couldnt resist to this idea. Few hours later I was at the match, observing the girls hunting the ball and me also trying to catch some action with a telephoto lens. Dynamic, elegant & fit; after all those beautyful girls had a mission.”
You can feel so well the team spirit, strength and energy that such a sport event creates in the space and we almost feel like getting up and cheering to them while observing the images of photographer George Stratigis.
