“I am a very nostalgic person. When I am taking photos, I want to capture those little moments that are lost forever.”

Guillaume Gaubert is a 24 years old French film photographer. His work is a dreamy journey into his past about places he visited, people he has met, and all those wonderful little moments in life. “I started photography when I was given my deceased grand-father’s old film camera by my grand-mother. This very sentimental present has been very important to me as I have never had a chance to know my grand-father. Since this day I haven’t stop taking photos, from travel and landscape to portraits.” Fascinated by beauty, the beauty of a person, the beauty of a landscape, the beauty of a face or of light, the French Riviera based artist´s talent helps him to express his feelings. “Photography also helped me meet beautiful people that are now good friends of mine, for example Arnaud Ele. It is like a social network on its own.” he tells. “When I am taking photos, I want to capture those little moments that are lost forever. I am a very nostalgic person, attached to everything that is now gone, so when I am shooting, I want to be connected to this very moment and keep a trace of it. I want to make it look as timeless as possible, because to me timelessness is a mark of beauty. This is one of the reason I mainly use 35mm film which I think better reproduces the classic, timeless feeling that I am looking for. For me, the most important thing in life is to be able to do what you like and to follow your heart and passion in whatever you do or plan to do.” Enjoy a wonderful selection including some never-released and exclusive photos of “A day of summer in Switzerland”.

Hello from my planet! I love nature, freedom, dancing, traveling, music, reading, chilling, cats and the woods. What makes me happy is healthy food, a good night out, long walks in the forest and getting lost in the sound of nature.

I can relate to being nostalgic. It’s interesting how small moments can stick with us. They shape who we are and often bring back strong feelings. I appreciate how Guillaume captures this sentiment in his work. It makes you think about the value of memories.
