Raymond Wong – Lost In Translation

Raymond Wong, who is currently studying in the UK,  has started to do photography about two years ago and began capturing daily life events with his film camera and progressively changed into girls portraits. His interesting approach to portray his subjects results into images that give away something secretive and serene. “I gave the same instructions and dress code to each girls in order to see how the photos would differ. With different locations, nationalities, types of film, weather and timing the outcome of things differ. I enjoy listening to how people see and how they feel the girls in the photograph. It is something without any words and descriptions, but only concentrating on the whole feeling of the photograph.”

Fascinating approach! By giving the same instructions and dress code to each model, you’ve created a unique experiment that highlights how variables like location and film type shape the final image. Your focus on capturing a ‘whole feeling’ rather than explicit narratives really resonates—it invites viewers to bring their own interpretations. Keep exploring this serene aesthetic!
