Photographer Lauren M Brown of Fashiongrunge wanted to explore the simplicity of friends spending time together resulting in a photo story shot on film with no retouching.
“In a world where digital connections are fast becoming the norm, I decided to explore the best friend relationships that happen off-screen as it were. For the shoot the friends chose their own locations and there was no direction given as to what could happen. My first series was in Brooklyn following three girls in their mid 20s hanging around their apartment and wandering around the streets. For my last shoot two friends, both 16 love to hang out in a local park and in a parking lot in Washington, DC.” The 3 girls shot in Brookyln are taylorlashae, samtarter, kiatavernier. Washington DC- girls are shittyfilm, phia.braschnewitz.

This photo series sounds really interesting. I appreciate how Lauren chose to focus on the genuine moments between friends. It must give a nice raw perspective that polished photos often miss. I love seeing real friendships captured like this. Looking forward to seeing the final results
