Austrian photographer Lichterwaldt teamed up with Doris Kemptner at Major Model Management to explore the newly built part outside of Vienna. And to cool down they jump into the landscaped pond.
“Somewhere in Vienna a new district is growing that differs widely from the characteristics of this busy city. It is a beautiful, warm and sunny day, the people can hear the arrival of the hottest summertime in this year and prefer to leave the sultry city center of Vienna to migrate to places of peace and solitude, where they can spend their time relaxing while sipping a cold drink or eating an ice cream or a simple apple. We spent a day at the lake, a quiet, non crowded place in silence and peace away from everything and everyone, to find ourselves listening to the silence and to enjoy the moment. The pleasure that offers this corner of peace is giving the opportunity to look for those moral values that the daily life makes us forget too often, to find these little pleasures makes life so joyful and full of energy. A day dedicated to ourselves, a day dedicated to our physical and mental relaxation.”

It’s great to see Doris Kemptner and Lichterwaldt collaborating on this project. Exploring new areas can bring fresh perspectives. I wonder how the new part outside of Vienna compares to the city itself. I’m looking forward to seeing more photos from this exploration.
